At MPL Group - We have a meticulous process to achieve a great product every season.....

  • Grass Cutting

  • Mature grass or forage crops (like alfalfa or timothy) are mowed using a hay cutter or mower.

  • Timing is critical — usually cut during dry, sunny weather for optimal moisture control.

  • Tedding (Spreading the Hay)

  • The freshly cut hay is fluffed and spread using a tedder.

  • This allows better air flow and sun exposure, speeding up the drying process evenly.

  • Turning and Raking

  • Hay is turned periodically to ensure all sides dry thoroughly.

  • A rake gathers it into windrows (rows of dried hay) once the moisture level is suitable.

  • Moisture Monitoring

  • Hay is checked regularly with a moisture meter.

  • Ideal moisture for baling is usually 15–18% to prevent mold or spontaneous combustion.

  • Baling the Hay

  • Once dry, hay is compacted into square bales using a hay baler.

  • Proper baling preserves nutrients and ensures long-term storage quality.

  • Dry Storage or Post-Drying

  • Bales are stored in dry, covered indoor areas .

  • Custom and proprietary ventilated storage with fan integration  is used to complete the drying process and prevent heat buildup.

  • Quality Control & Delivery

  • Final bales are inspected for mold, moisture, and proper density.

  • Premium High-quality hay is then ready for delivery.
